When we started building boostN with AI, we thought: the better the model, the better the result. That’s true — but only to a small extent.

The real learning

The biggest lever was never switching to a stronger model. The biggest lever was giving the AI the right context: clear goals, examples, guardrails, and a memory of what happened before.

• An AI without context guesses.
• An AI with good context works almost like an onboarded colleague.

What this means in practice

1. Write down what’s obvious. What’s obvious to you, the AI doesn’t know.
2. Give examples instead of explanations. One good example beats three paragraphs of description.
3. Build a memory. Decisions made once shouldn’t need re-explaining in every chat.

That’s what much of boostN revolves around — and it’s also the core of how we advise teams on adopting AI.
